Please advise--EAD at NSC

Learned that on Nov 19 my I-485/765/131 were received at NSC by tracking the mailing. However, no RD was received yet. Usually how long to get RD receipt?

My problem is that I am currently using my F1 OPT to work, but it will expires on 12/25/2003. My company didn't inform me that it doesn't sponsor H1 until November 1. Instead company askes me to work using EAD (485 based). They will give me two month grace period for me to wait for EAD coming, in other words, if I can not get my EAD on or before Feb 25, 2004, I will lose my job.

So I am in such a hurry to prepare all the documents to NSC, and hope I will receive RD dated on or before Nov 25, 2003. In such case, if I don't get EAD on Feb 25, 2004, I could have chance to get iEAD on local office.

But now I even don't know when I could get RD receipt, not to say what the date is on the RD receipt.
 
My experience with NSC has been RD = 1 or 2 days after they receive the mail. xCIS prints the LIN# behind the Fee Check before cashing them - u can find out ur LIN# from there and then track on the web.

Receiving the Receipt notice is an entirely different story. If you haven't received it by now, God Forbid, they might be lost.. Me and wifey applied for AP/EAD renewals together and our RDs are Nov 12th for all 4 applications. However, we only got the receipt for her AP.

Today my attorney told me that she will be calling the BCIS liason for the Lincoln office and ask them to inquire about my case. Frankly, I don't know what she could get. In addition, this morning I called 800 number but was told that it normally takes 30 days to get it.

Actually my wife and I sent I-485/765/AP together, though I-140 is still pending.
 
Did u pay the fee urself or did ur employer pay for u? Check the backside of the cashed out fee checks - that is the easiest way to get the LIN#. Once u have the LIN#, u can track the status of ur applications on the CIS website.

Can some one please throw light on the format of the I-485, EAD & AP receipt numbers.
Like the H1B as : EAC01150xxxxx

I have a copy of the check encashed by BCIS, but dont know what numbers to look for.

U could have searched the posts for numerous answers to the same. All case numbers have the same logic:

ABC-XX-YYY-ZZZZZ:

ABC: The center ur case is at (LIN=NSC etc..)

XX: Year ur case was filed. Year starts on Oct 1 of previous year (currently running LIN04)

YYY: # of the Working day the case was filed

ZZZZZ: Unique number of your application on that day.

My lawyer on 12/12/03 told me that she received the RD/ND receipt but I haven't got the copy of notice yet--she just sent it yesterday.

This afternoon I checked the website and it was said that "Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received on December 8, 2003..." (I guess 12/08/03 is notice date, am I right? I knew that the petition applicaton was physically arrived on 11/19/03--so I assumed RD would be 11/09/03). Anyway, tonight I checked the website again and unbelievably find that "On December 23, 2003, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Very happy because if I hadn’t got the approval today, tomorrow would be my last day of employment; I have to be temporarily terminated until the new card is approved.
