Hi,
I have given my passport for H1B Visa revalidation since I am currently in the US.Also i have got my medical papers form Canadian Consulate and now waiting for the interview for PR in Canada.I understand that I am supposed to bring passport and pay stubs of my current employer for the Canadian Interview .But visa revalidation takes place about minimum of 8 weeks and may be more in which case I do not have my passport for that time period. My Canadian PR filing was done in November 2001 and since I have got my mediacl papers I am expecting the interview within the next month or so.If by the time my interview date appears and I do not my passport by then what is the best possible way to come out of this.Should I postpone my interview date.if yes when does it take to get another date again.
Any help is appreciated as i am in a really bad fix.

Your interview date wont come before that...one of my friend got medical paper and alongwhith they mentioned he has to attend interview. letter came to him in jan 2002. till he didnt get the interview date...so dont be in panic...relax...

Passport Revalidation and canadian PR

Hello,
If I revoke my passport from DOS and suppose I get my PR Stamped in the same passport then can I send it back again to DOS.If yes will it be rejected by DOS since they will find Canadian Stamp on my passport or can I go outside US to India to get it stamped and get rejected again?
Please advise
Thanks

anshu123,

Canadian PR and DOS passport validation are two different thing. No body will deny or revoke your passport just because you have applied in both category. As far as you are in legal status you don't have to worry.Few years back Canadian authorities cared less even if you were in US without status . But after 9/11 whole situation changed.

It only takes few weeks(6 weeks max) to revalidate visa by DOS.You can determine you tme line accordingly. However, you won't be called for interview by Canadians so soon.
