Hi guys, My I140 was approved recently and yesterday I received a RFE notice for the I485. Is this common? What are the common reasons for I485 RFEs? Thanks for your help/

Possible reasons based on past posts include birth certificate translations, birth certificates themselves being too recent (need original ones), TB test (took X-ray without taking actual PPD test), proof of legal presence in the country in previous years, etc etc

Yes , very common,

They may well ask for information that you have already sent with the original pack. Do not worry, just do everything they say or ask for.

Just always send the reply back via fed ex or certified mail so it does not go astray :) good luck

"birth certificates themselves being too recent (need original ones), "

Can someone explain whether I need original birth certificate? I have a copy provided to me by the county office that says this is a copy of the original record and is stamped and signed by the official. My parents misplaced my original birth certificate and I had to apply and get a new one. Can someone tell me whether this is acceptable?

Basically, such a question cannot be answered definitively: If the officer who happens to be adjudicating your case accepts it, then you'll be okay. If not, you'll get an RFE stating what they want for more evidence. My guess is that you will not be asked for more evidence, but it's always possible.
