Hi All,

We are planning to apply for Canada PR and would really need some advice. I am on H1, my husband is on EAD and 2 kids - citizens of US. We want to apply for PR to be on safeside as we are not sure when we gonna get our GC.
Is it adviceable ...
1. SHould I apply only for myself? Once the get PR, if I want to apply for the family, should I live in Canada or can also do that from US?
or
2. Should I apply for both of us and not include kids? Some have mentioned that if we apply for both of us, we will put our application in jeopardy as my husband is on EAD, Canada Immi people will know that we have already applied for GC and might reject our application. HOW MUCH TRUE IS THIS?????

I am very confused and would really need your valuable suggestion. Please provide your suggestions.

Thanks and appreciate all your time,
Vishi.

Getting the Canadian PR status takes at least 3 years. And since you already have an EAD, you might want to wait for the final stamping. Otherwise you will just waste money in applying for the PR, since you want to do it "just to be on the safer side". You might want to apply for it in case your stamping is not done/refused (which is unlikely in my opinion). Also, you have "AC21" rule to be on the safer side - it is a much cheaper "insurance policy" than applying for the cdn PR...
