Please advice...It's Urgent

My I-485 interview is scheduled for 14th Sep. My current EAD is valid till Sep 7th.
I had applied for my new EAD in June. My receipt date is June 29. In case if i don't get my new EAD before 7th Sep, What should i do ?

I am not sure if Newark Office will issue me an Interim EAD before 90 days.

Should I stop continuing my current job and sit at home till 14th Sep ?

What should I tell to an imigration officer during my Interview ?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Since it's pretty close to Sep 7, you should prepare for EAD interim card. There are several caseas in here. http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?p=1215717#post1215717.
Post#106 should be one of your references.
Important Note: you should ask your company to issue letter stated that your EAD is expiring and it's crucial to have it in order to continue working for company.
