Pleasant experience with Congressman Chris Bell

I would like to acknowledge the help i got from Congressman Chris Bell's office (I think it is very important to recognize people who help us in this forum, so that others can benefit from it).

My case details: Our application is filed at TSC thru my wife's employer.
I-140 applied in August 2002, approved in Dec 2002
I-485 ND Sep 17, 2002 .

My wife's employer never gave us a copy of the I-140 receipt notice or the approval notice citing company policy. My wife recently changed jobs after the 485 has been pending for more than a year. We requested her previous company to give us the copy of I-140 approval notice since there were so many RFEs issued for EAD/AP extensions. And the response was a rude NO.

With out knowing the receipt number it was not even possible to apply for a duplicate approval notice. I even contacted an attorney, but he said it will be very difficult to get anything from TSC without knowing the src number.

As a last resort I contacted Congressman Chris Bell's (the same person who helped a Houston Lung Transplant specialist to get his O1 visa) office and I talked to a friendly person who deals with immigration related stuff. He asked me to send him an email with the details of I485 case. I sent the e-mail on Monday of this week and I got a response today (thursday) giving me the src# of I-140.

I was so happy and I thought I will share this with you guys.

Oh and the other thing is, my residence falls under District 20 and Chris Bell is the congressman for 25th District. Usually you are expected to contact the congressman of your district...
