Hi y'all, i read this on the USCIS site and was wondering if i fall in this category. for your info, I was giving a white card on July 2004.
I think this has to do with the law suite in California.

"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"

thanks

you sure do fall under that category , but that dont mean things are gona chage real fast .... after u call ..
anyways if i was you i would send them an inquiry(call the 800 number ) and carry on with my life .. your a PR now :D
also from what i read people in some states have a hard time renewing their stamp (ie. ny ... this is rare tho , so )

thx
i called twice,
once last month and they said u should have recieved the welcome kit first and then the plastic card.
i called a month later and this time the guy said i have to wait until 6 months have passed and then only they could make an inquiry????
you know how these CSR they don't know anything, all the help u get from them is IF they agree to submit an inquiry for u with the service center.
I got approved Apr 27, and I got stamped in San Francisco, so i have one more week before i call again,,

This message has been on USCIS website for almost 2 months now,I called uscis calling center as per the instructions on their website because i got approved on August,10 but have not received the actual card. The rep told me that she was going to email the plastic card dept to have my card sent.

I just called the customer service, I was told that message doesn't concern me, go figure, and then she asked me if i received a welcome letter, I told her no, she said she will go ahead and do an inquiry on that. what is she talking about here? a welcome letter? i never knew that i was suppose to get a letter after stamping.

thanks

cider_or,
read my last post, I was told the samething.
normally, immigrants who come to USA on immigration visa, are sent the (Welcome) letter to the country telling them about their rights and duties, etc and also to tell them that their GC would be mailed out shortly,
bottom line, the CSR don't know anything about our process, and it's a hit and miss thing,
if you notice the 3 of us here ( you, sessanga and I) had different responses from the CSRs.

After reading the 60 days stuff, I did call the USCIS and I did document that here in the forum. Anyway, When I called them the representative took the information and told me that Nebraska will respond to my inquiry within a month. 15-20 days later I received a letter saying that I will have to wait as the card request is being processed. A few weeks after that I did receive the plastic card.

I had been stamped in Nov / 2003
Called USCIS : Mid July / 2004
Received Nebraska Response: First week in August / 2004
Card was prepared on August 19 / 2004
Card arrived on August 30 / 2004
