Plastic card Received but No PP stamping

Hi Guys,
My 485 was approved on 2 March 2005 and I received my plastic card on 14 Mar 05. I haven't done my PP stamping yet.
Do I need to go for PP stamping. If stamping is not required ,what to do with EAD's and advance payroll's (not used EAD's and AP's still on H1B). Is it necessary to hand over to INS. Please advise me. Anyone have same problem.

Details:

EB3-RIR-India
485 ND : Dec 2003
PD : Nov 2001
485 AD : 2 Mar 2005
Card ordered : 4 Mar 2005
card mailed date : 10Mar 2005
Card Received : 14 Mar 2005

Thanks,
M Reddy

Since you received the cards, there is no need to go for stamping. Stamping is a temporary proof of your GC status, now that you got the actual card, you do not need this.

As far as AP and EAD go, you can keep them as souvinours or destroy them. Alternatively you can call USCIS and they will tell you where to return these. In any case USCIS does not care, just make sure they never get misused.

How is this possible.
I was told at the IMiigration office that until we do the passport stamping and fill the application the process for the atual card will not be initiated.

Please help me understand??

Thanks

Anything is possible with USCIS. On one side we are waiting for months to get plastic card after stamping and on other side some people need not even visit local USCIS office for stamping and get their plastic card. Isn't this a great system

Anything is possible with NSC...
CSC and VSC are producing cards in less than 60 days, NSC sends mail mentioning it would take 12 to 18 months to produce cards for employment based GC's.

lucky guy!

PP Stamping

It appears that NSC is changing the process. This is not the first case where they issued plastic card directly within a couple of days of approval. Remember recently they have started asking for Biomentrics and FP before they adjudicate.

This does not surprise me. Last year a judge (if I remember right Marlyn Patel was her name) in California gave class action status to a law suit that was filed by the people who got passport stamped and were waiting for months and years to get plastic cards. After this ruling there was strong rumor floating in the AILA meet in Chicago that USCIS might be doing away with the stamping altogeter as early as from last week of Oct 2004. If they have started working towards changing that process, think that is a very good sign.

Remember to KISS it. ( Keep it simple stupid ! or sweetheart ! )

Going to the point, if they can make the process simplier, then they would have less work to do and thus speed up the process.

nuff said.
