FYI
I sent my plastic card to VSC on April 1 because of wrong information on my card. I haven't heard anything from VSC till today, so I called them up this morning.
Guess what? This lady officer asked me if I put the name of the IIO (who took my call last month) on the envelope. I told her that I didn't even know the name of that officer. All he told me to do was sent back the plastic card, a copy of both my birth cert and passport to VSC. Since it's their fault that printing the wrong information on my card, I didn't have to send in any forms. I specifically asked him which dept and address should I sent to and he gave me the VSC address. But he NEVER EVER mentioned that I should put attention to HIS NAME. The lady officer kindly traced back who took my call and talked to that guy while putting me on hold. Later, she said there's NOTHING they could do (because someone will have to finish sorting out all the mails in the mail room) In other words, they COULDN'T/WON'T process my case YET. But I should wait at least 90 days (starting May 1 instead of April 1!!!!!) to call back and check with them again.
I asked the lady if they could put a note in that system to issue me a new card (since they already admitted it was their fault - they pulled out my original I485 forms and confirmed it) She said the system didn't have that feature??? (I DON'T BELIEVE IT unless BCIS is really using a crap software).
I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!
In other words, my plastic card may lost in the pile of mails.
A piece of advise, remember to ask for the name of the officer who wanted you send back any materials to VSC. My GC ordeal has not yet over!!!
I wonder if I should personally go to VSC and hand in the card in the first place. Of course, I didn't know if they accept any walk-in cases for this type of problems......
