Planning to use EAD from H1B

My H1B is currently expiring soon and I plan to use approved EAD for work. I am with the same employer who sponsored GC. If I use EAD for work, what forms I need to fill and take care. I appreciate your suggestions because my HR people are not well informed and not many foreign workers at my institute.

Don't use EAD

If you are not planning to change employer in near future don't think changing to EAD status from H1b. Renew for H1b and continue on H1b but not to EAD.

I have some problems in H1B renewal as my employer does not encourage to do and also I will have to bear the expense of attorney fees etc. So it is better I stay in EAD and probably jump to another employer if I get a job.

Tell me what I should take care if I use EAD? For example do I need to send in any forms to USCIS?
 
Yep, you just need to inform employer about your change of work eligibility....

Earlier, U might have filled up I-9 form - showin H1B as your work eligibility criteria....You just need to submit a new I-9 form - showing your work eligibility based on EAD...

The only drawback with abandoing H1B is can't bring your wife on H4, in the rare scenario of 485 denial you may be forced to go back to your country within 30-60 days etc....
but one gains the convenience of jumping companies easily
