Planning to go for H1B stamping in Canada--Please advice

I am from India. I am planning to go to Ottawa for my 1st H1B stamping (F1 to h1). I finished my Masters Degree in Computer Science from USA. My h1B was approved in December 2006. I have a couple of questions:

1) Will my information be already there in the PIMS system?
2) My last name is: "Gupta". is it a common last name?
3) is there any thing else that may cause an administrative processing in my case?
4) if I am stranded in Canada, can I come bace to US with my current I-94 or do i need to go back to India from there?

Any comments are higly appreciated. Please advice.

I am working on My H1b Visa. I did not get the prober documents yet so I can not check online to see when is the next available time for interview.
Could you tell me how long are the waiting times now for H1b interview. Is there any slot available in the next 6 weeks or it is so crowded.

Does matter if I have a PR card from Canada.
