planning a trip...

Hello everyone, first of all, sorry for my bad English, i'll try to do my best to explain to you what is actually worrying me, i'm French and i have been selected for the 2015 DV and i'm so happy about it! I already submitted my DS 260 form.

The thing is, that i have been planning a trip to the US (in next october) since last year; i applied for my ESTA on april 2014 and it was accepted (not right away)

I would like to know if that trip could jeopardize my chances to get my GC, i have never been to USA before and i need to know if i should cancel it

I hope someone will be able to answer my question, thank you very much in advance !!

THere is no need to cancel your trip. Your ESTA is still valid, and is not directly affected by the submission of the DS260. Whether you had submitted the DS260 or not, you may be questioned about whether you have ties to your homeland (such as owning a home, a job, family etc), but generally most people are simply asked bare minimum questions when they enter on the ESTA.

Thanks a million Britsimon for your quick answer! !! that is a relief! i'll be able to relax a bit now lol...Thanks again!!
