Planning 8th year extension

Hi All,

Namaste.

My present employer has already filed for my 7th year extension on the basis of 365 days early filing of labor. I personally do have a copy of "Priority Date" for labor filing which is from labor department. Now with the uncertainty of economy or employment in this country How best can I plan for 8th year extension? Everything seems to be good at present and I do not see any lay offs during the 7th year and say I do not want o leave the company till Green Card will be worked out but by any reasons if present employer may come up with laying off then what best option I will have? Can any other empolyer file for 8th year extension on the basis of the SAME LABOR FILING DATE (From present employer) even present employer lays me off ? In such scenerio, Is it necessary to have "legal permission/willingness' from present employer to use the SAME LABOR PRIORITY DATE PROOF for having H1 transferred to new employer for its 8th year extension?
