same Place of birth spelt differently in pp
Hello Friends , i have a typical issues with my birth Certificate ,

1. I donot have a birth certificate ,

2. The place of my birth i had written in my Passport is MMMMMMM , but recently i went to india and i saw that the name is spelt as YMYMYMYM .

I requested the Municipal office to issue me a NON-Avaliability for my birth certificate , they helped me by providing this with their standard format name as YMYMYMYM ,but in the brackets underneath the Printed name they wrote in hand the name as i requested i.e., MMMMMMM .

can any one help me in this does any one know what else i need to do in this regard.
Thanks

Surya,

I think you need not worry about this. My situation is an exact replica of your case. The spelling of my place of birth, in my PP is different from how it is spelt ( which I came to know, only after I got the NAC ).

But in my case the way the word is pronounced is the same.
So, I will be going to the Consulate with the same papers and explain there, if necessary.

When I took the Birth affidavits from my parents, I made them spell the place as it is spelt in the NAC and write the name of the place as it appears on my pp, in brackets!

It is even better in your case since, the issue office itself inserted the other spelling in the document.
