Hello there. My wife got the first letter a month ago. We filled out and sent back the documents in 2 days. I don't know if we did everything correctly. One thing that bothers me is that the name of place of birth looks totally different in the application form and the passport. It is the same place, but we used the name of the town AND the abbreviation of the regoin name in the form whereas the passport just mentions the full name of the region without the town. It should be possible to prove that it's the same place (for example, the birth certificate should have both the town and the full name of the region, but do you think we could get into any trouble because of the differences? Another problem is that there is no single official version of the area name becasue it is called differently in different languages, so the abbreviation we used might not be considered official at this point. Should I worry about this problem at all? Any advice is appreciated.

Anecdotally, during the interview, stick to the name you used on you initial DV entry last year. Otherwise, I doubt if this is any issue at all.
