Can someone please confirm this:

On OF 169, it says that I should complete OF 230 part 1 along with OF 169 and send it to NVC ? why do we have to send to NVC ? I thought we have to send pkt3 to consulate ?

For sending pk3:

Do I have to fill the seperate forms for my self and my wife in
each of the following forms ?

DS 230 part I
OF 169
I - 864/864A

Also, do I have to send tax transcripts, employment letter along with pkt3 ?

1. Sending of Packet 3 to NVC or consulate depends on a country of your CP. For example, I know that if you plan to have your CP in Montreal you have to mail your Packet 3 back to NVC. So it really depends on your individual case.

2. You need to fill one OF-169 per family. The form DS-230 Part I needs to be filled for each person going for CP. Then, send both types of forms back in your Packet 3.

3. I do not know about I-864/864A forms, since I believe they are only used for family-based immigration or employment-based immigration when a relative of yours owns more than 5% of a company, which sponsors you. An I-134 form (Affidavit of support for dependents) has been used for normal cases of employment-based immigration. However, you do not send a notarized I-134 form back in your Packet 3. You take with you to the consulate when you go for your interview. The same goes for Tax transcripts, and the notarized employment letter. At least, this is practiced for employment-based immigration.

Anyway, what are the instructions in the package you got????

I did not get pkt 3 yet. I am planning to send the pkt3 before my lawyer receives and sends it. I\'ve downloaded from NVC website
