Pkt 4 Confusion... Please Advice

Hello,

I received Pkt 4 and it mentions a few things which confuses me.

First Issues:

It says "As of January 2002, All immigrant visa applicants over age 16 must present Indian Police Certificates. Two certificates must be obtained as follows:
1) a certificate from your local police station;
2) a certificate from your Regional Passport Office."

Well as per my understanding people living in US from more than past 6 months only need PCC from Indian Consulate in India... But they have not mentioned anything about this.

Second Issue:
It mentions one of its enclosures as IRS form 9003 but it actually does not include it.
Do we need to print this and take this too. And is this the one to be printed on both side of a YELLOW color paper.

Third Issue:
Do we need to take an appointment with the Hospital or walk-ins should be fine.

All experienced CPers out there please advice.

Thanks,

If an individual has been in US for last 6 months than PCC from Indian Consulate is good enough. The above requirement of two PCCs from individuals is meant only for applicants who are in India.

US conuslate should give clear directive for applicants who are currently residing in US. May be Rajiv Khanna or other attorneys/US Senate members should raise this issue with US consulate authorities.

Thanks.

answers ....

First Issues:

If residing in the US, u do not need local PCCs ... though in Bombay last year around Apr/May they started asking for Local PCCs but that was it ... Delhi and Chennai never insisted ... as of today none of the consulates asks for it if u are already in the US ...

Second Issue:

Not needed.

Third Issue:

Take appointments to be on the safe side ...
