BTW, in Pittsburgh, you can go for fingerprinting any time after receiving the FP notice. ( You dont have to wait till the Date on the notice). You may want to check if this is OK in your area as it may shave some time off the entire process.

Any ideas on Pittsburgh timelines? Do you call the VSC or the local office for an update?
 
If they allow to go earlier than the interview date, no harm in doing so. But don't be under the impression that this will hasten the process. FP is just a 'parallel process' and takes not more than a business day to get a response from FBI. Either way you will have to wait for you turn for interview, which is based on your PD.
