PIO vs OCI vs Indian Visa

Hey folks,
I got my citizenship recently and am trying to make a decision as to what kind of Indian immigration document I need to file? Read some stuff online but am still a little unclear. I held an Indian passport while my spouse is a national of another country and my son is a US citizen.now we are all US citizens and want to find a simple, consistent way to travel to India. We own properties in India (if that makes any difference here).

Also, which of these could be applied by mail? Or, do we need to go in person for all of these? Also, would I need to mail my US passport or could I just send a notarized copy? Thanks.

OCI for you and your children, PIO for spouse. If spouse or spouse's parents were Indian citizens, then spouse can also get OCI.
All require mail applications. OCI requires original US passport when OCI is granted - they will put OCI visa sticker on the US passport. PIO needs a notarized copy of US passport.
