PIO application fees

Hi -

I am applying PIO application for my son in India consulate NY. Wanted to know whether application fee is accepted in cashier's check or not in NY consulate. The bank manager said that cashiers check & certified check is the same thing. Just wanted to confirm with you before i send the docs via mail.

Can anyone help me on this, pls. Is cashiers check accepted in Indian Consulate, NY, as on the indiacgny.org website it is written as certified check or money order.
