There is a new administrative process named PIMS (Petition information management system), which has been introduced from December 2007... this is causing a major delay in returning passports after successful interviews,
H1, L1s are the worst hit. I am still waiting for my passport for more than 15 days (including weekends and hols). This is very frustrating!!!
I have expected delays in getting opportunities, but never anticipated delays from the Consulate!
Please be aware!! Those who are coming to India for renewal of visas, get your AP ready, and claim it before you come to India... atleast you dont ahve to get stuck here waiting for more than 20 days!
