Hi freinds,

I had sent a fax to Senator Dianne Feinstein SFO office enquiring about EB I-485 cases approved ( in CSC) that were filed after September 2002 (WAC03 & 04) and questioning how fair it was for applicant cases those are still pending (WAC02' and any 01's) .

I received a call from the Senator's office and asked the same to the person "if it is fair to processed WAC03 cases and that what happens to WAC02 cases. How many months/years would it take to process these"

The Response from the person responsible to deal with Immigration issues , "Stella Lyazer"

I had been recently in a CSC meeting that specifically brought up the point of EB-I485 backlogs and pilot programms. So far the cases that were filed after Sept 2002 and that got approved are randomly selected WAC03's and WAC04's that are part of pilot programs. But this doesn't mean that all the cases filed after Sept 2002 would be processed leaving behind WAC02 casess untouched. The CSC director has assured that by Sept 2004 the EB I-485 backlog is going to be significantly reduced and that the cases would be approved/touched or processed in the order they were filed/received.

I also asked whatever she informed me can she reply to me in writing as a response to my FAX. And she said, we would have CSC respond to senators office mentioning the above details and then will send you and others hwo have case work open with us, a copy of the same explanation.

In summary the WAC02 are also targetted to be processed / touched before Sept 2004.

Thanks!
ngadhia

Cynic's Corner: Pilot program for us

Why can't they run a pilot program for us?

I keep wondering whether our cases are in such a mess (cobwebs/dust/mold--just kidding) but really from the whole shredding thing. I would give a lot of money to see inside the CSC's 485 processing facility. I wonder whether the shredding just made it really difficult for them to reassemble the cases, whether that in turn is causing delays in security checks, etc...

Is the pilot program only for CSC? I thought it was a BCIS memo.
And thanks ngadhia for updating us. Do other think we should send more faxes of this kind to Senator Fienstein?

the only program they can run for 2002 guys is approvals. they should try a pilot program where they try to approve 3 months cases in 1 month and see whether CSC lazy bums can keep up.

My WAC 03-031-53... and the notice date is on Nov 1st 2002.

Does that mean my case will be fall in thie new Pilot Program and would be approved within next three months?

Hard to believe where lots of other folks are waiting for years...

good job

Thanks for your information,
Its really great work and bought lot of relief
for 02 waiters like me,
Thanks once again for sharing that information

GREAT JOB !!!! ngadhia.

Previously I had thought that, by definition, a pilot is a "test" or "experimenting" program, so only a small portion of cases will be pulled and attempted. Looks like this is truely the case, this pilot is not a comprehensive program.

Now I am a little confused about the Ohata memo which surfaced last week. This memo came from the top AFTER the CSC pilot programs was announced. It addressed concurrent filing cases in general, so if this memo has any binding power over all 4 directors, they should be doing this in a comprehensive manner. But from the wording of the memo, it sounds that only recently or newly filed cases will benefit; not the backlogs because those FP have expired. I just hope that this memo will not draw away too much man power to new cases so that CSC can stick to the Sept. promise on backlog reduction.

It's a great idea to request a hard copy of CSC's response. We cannot ease up but to watch CSC's progress closely, and put on some pressure come August if the speed hasn't picked up by then. This agency has given too many excuses before: "sunset cases for religious worker" on last Sept, "Salvador cases" on last March ..... I simply can't put too much faith in their words until I see some results.
