Guys,
Interesting story and a bit of advise for those waiting for their Physical Card after passport stamping:
My and my wife's passport got stamped in Dec 2004, and my wife's card was received within 4 weeks but mine was not...So after 60 days I called support number and they give a advice to wait till 1 month before my passport stamp expires ( i.e Nov 2005), it could come any time before that.
I did not by this, because some how I knew if all was well, they would have procssed it with my wife, so I asked my lawyer to call them again, this time they talked to Immigration officer who advice was they have all the info, and they will send my case to supervisor, wait for upto 1 month. again no card afer 6 weeks of this call, so I called again and Rep advised to take a appointment and redo the passport stamp process, so I take another appointment at local office and this time they send me back saying wait till Nov 2005 we can not do anything.
another month and no card, so I fill my I-90 and asked lawyer to call them again, this time they ask me to take another appointment at local office and ask for status...I again go there and finally get hold of a officer who looked up all history of my case and mentioned they were missing I-89 (one of the forms that was filled when we did passport stamping). So he takes down my contact info and told me he will recall my file back to local office and call me if anything is wrong.
Another month past, no call , so I make another appointment to check, this time talked to same officer and he told me your file was recalled and re-submited to card processing center after verifying every thing,
One week later that officer calls me that your card has been mailed out, very nice of him....
Today I received my card finally after great deal of efforts,
So moral of the story guys if you are waiting for more than 60 days for Physical card, do not just wait ..keep calling and visit local office.. if will work for you...
Thank you all this forum has helped me a lot ...so wanted to give some thing back ...
