5 photos really?
My reading of the instructions on the website gave me the impression that only 2 photos glued on to the 2 copies of the application were sufficient. I sent only 2 pictures and my registration was granted on 10/16
So it's either 2 or 3 photos, assuming that the form itself needs only 1 photograph.BUT if the form itself needs more than 1 photo per form, then add those many more X 2 since the application needs to be submitted in duplicate! (I have not seen the OCI form, so cannot comment on that.)
If many people have actually received the OCI card with just 2 photos, then 2 it is!
I have sent only 2 photographs - pasted one each on one photograph. One of my friend applied the same way and she got her OCI. So I did the same. I mailed my app on 09/27 and it would have reached on 09/30. No update whatsoever on the website.
The instructions are really confusing. The CGNY website says only two phographs at one place (Steps to apply - which is most important). The MHA wesite and Instructions on PartB also say 2 photographs. But the FAQ section on New York website says 3 pictures.
I came across this 3 photograpgs thing in FAQ after I mailed the app. I called CGNY and the lady who answered the phone said "Please do not send any additional pictures, whatever you sent should be sufficient, in case we need more you will be informed".
