Photographs for OCI

Hi,
I understand that photographs required for OCI should have light clor background. Is a white background okay? or will be rejected? Every where I go they have only white background. Any had a similar situation? Please advise.

I know of friends who have sent photographs with white background and their OCI have been approved. Just make sure the size is 35mm X 35mm.
 
We tried to get a clear answer for this same question but didn't get a satisfactory reply..so we did take photos with white back ground and sent the application in. I didn't even bother to trim it to 35x35.. i am awaiting for next move by cgi-houston.

2X2 at DC

s_a_kumar,

I made 2X2 size using epassport.com and printed at target (20cents for 4x6 photo). It worked from DC CGI. If you talk about background color, my tip is: if your house is built by putle, they use pulti-mist color for walls. I hope my tip will clarify someone's ? atleast.
 
How long does it take to get OCI

I am planning to make a trip to India On Aug 10th and if I apply for OCI will I get it within that time?
 
It depends

It depends on which embassy you can apply from, the San Francisco embassy seems to be taking about 2 months, the New York embassy seems to be much faster with 1 month processing time. Check the different timeline threads for a better idea but be prepared to apply for a Visa if you do not see progress by Aug' 1st.
