Photo requirment for citizenship

Hi All

Is it true that the photo requirement for the citizenship has changed recently. It is not the side picture(3/4 profile view of the right side of the face) but a regular 2"x2" full front face view picture. We went to take the picture and guy at the studio has told us that it has chnaged.

Naturalization guide still requires side view on pag 33. Can anyone help?
