photo question and application fee question

Hi everyone,
The application fee should be paid in Canadian dollars? Or pay equivalent US dollars?

Also, I just got my two sets of photos needed for Canadian PR application. They were taken on the same day. I had the same dress and the same hair style, but the smile looked different (obvious difference) on the two sets of photos. It that OK? The instructions says the photos must be from the same negative or taken at the same moment using multi-lense camera. Will my photos be accepted?
 
I have got the answer to the fee question. It can be paid by US dollars.

Does anyone have similar experience on the photos? Will my application be returned because of the differences on the photos?

Any suggestion?

I have a question. My points on the point calculation system comes to around 70, but friends say the imm. officer can give upto 10 points if he likes. Now if I apply with this situation and get rejected by application, will my application fee be refunded or do I lose the application fee.
