Hello,

I want to ask about the importance of the photo we uploaded for the original entry to the lottery.I won DV- 2014 and sent my documents to KCC already, however my photo uploaded for lottery in the first place was a bit old and shaded. So I wonder if it would be problem at any stage of further processing.
thanks..

If your photo was too bad then you would have been disqualified and you wouldn't have known you were selected.

However, the photo was supposed to be recent, so once you get to the interview do not mention that the photo was old. the interview process will rely on your later photo that you submitted with the forms.

Hard to tell. They use facial recognition software to compare photos on the initial entry, the forms and then the ones you present at interview. You'll probably be all right, but maybe to ease your mind you can send KCC an email and ask if everything seems to be in order with your forms and photos (we did this as I was worried one of our photos didn't exactly meet their specs, but we were fine).

Thank you for replies.Well KCC informed my documents are under processing at the moment and they didn't mention anything about the photos. So there is still a risk during the interview if they compare all 3 photos because it is clear that it is not a correctly taken photo.

Well regarding the shades on the photo, I agree with Britsimon that If had this be a problem, you wouldn't have been selected in the first place.

So I guess you are okay regarding the shades and other image specifications.

The only problem is that they have mentioned in the instructions to the applicants that photo must be recent. The definition of recent is that it should have been taken six months before the date of application.

So If KCC raises this issue with you, you can always tell the truth. Otherwise, I recommend don't raise this issue with them at all.
