Hi, all

It is the time to submit EAD and Ap time again. This time my lawyer tells me that the DIGITAL PHOTO is not acceptable for EAD and AP, and also send me the detailed requirement for the photo. In that requirement, actually it says the digital photo is acceptable. ???? I tried several places, (JC Penney, Sears etc), for the conventional photo. But the photos I got could not meet the USCIS photo requirements,( such as the light/shade, color, demensions etc. ) for sure because of the poor skill of the photographer.

Now I really do not know where I can take USCIS required conventional photo, or just submit digital photo will be fine. Any experience and suggestion are welcome. THanks.

EAD photo stories

What we did was first do photos at Costco, and when they did it wrong (wrong size, one time was too big face and another time too small) we came back and showed them instructions, and they re-did photos for free, then we applied for EAD/AP and it was accepted and approved. next time we tried to save money and did photos ourselves, digital and printed out on a photo paper, with correct size and background, and again mailed for EAD and it was also accepted.
Well... third time we did digital again, recently, it was no RFE on photos but EAD was transferred to local office (since our I-485 is there), where they call you to interview and take a picture of you themselves, and return whatever pictures we mailed to VSC, and issue EAD with their picture.

Find any shop where US-PASSPORT standard picture are taken. Make 2 photos, risk free.
I saw on Murthy.com, that AILA discussed with USCIS about Digital Photos, and USCIs finally agree to accept Digital photos. But it still ~~~~~.

lame question

I am asking a stupid question. Is there any difference between a photo output from a digital camera or a conventional camera? I mean why USCIS is concerned whether it is taken by a digital or a conventional camera.

For my first EAD I went to a local shop in NJ and they took a digital I beleive. My EAD came with no issue.

Lets see it like, Stupid-Requirement. I think USCIS does not want to further digitize the digitized picture.
It could be a pixel thing, scaner, device issue that picks/capture the image on the card issued by USCIS. In the layman term, it is only a human eye and digital device difference.
May be USCIS, save the food of professional photographers. It is well known, almost everybody carries the digital camera, now-a-days.
USCIS knows better.
