Photo file lost

Hi guys,

Seeing that there is 1 week left for the results, I was looking for the picture file I uploaded with the DV application and it appears that it's gone or accidentally deleted.

My question is (and it's worrying me) if I get lucky enough to be selected and I will have to send the 2 forms and photographs, will it be OK to send a different photograph from the one I originally submitted in the online application?

Good luck to all next week!

I'm prettyyyy sure it's a different photo you send back with the forms. I had a quick scan of the selectee page (http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4756.html) and I'm almost certain that you take new photos for that stage of the process. (I can't find information disputing that. I'm CERTAIN I took 3 photos, 1 for entry, 1 for the forms and 1 for my interview).
If you're still concerned, check out the selectee page, there's heaps of information there about the steps after being selected.
Good luck for next week!

Short answer yes...
Long answer:
Yes.. You can even apply from another city from the one you entered the lottery at the first place

Yes you can send a new photo. In fact you are technically obliged to send a new photo for the simple reason that the rules specify the photo sent with the forms must be "recent", which is defined at no more than six months old, although in practice people have been fine sending the old one so long as they haven't changed their appearance.

Good luck to you too!.

We had new photos along the whole process - one for the initial application, another for sending in with our forms once we were selected and then new ones for the last part of the process (medicals, interview, etc.). As slash_dot says, they specify recent photos. And with us really wanting to be successful in obtaining this visa, we didn't want to mess up our chances with something so trivial.
