Phone Number for fraud-check

Can anyone please tell me if there is a phone number to check the status of Administrative or fraud check sent by the Consulate. I had posted earlier about my case where it is put on hold from Chennai Consulate as they suspected fraud under my name(interview date Oct 29, 2002) though I m not involved in any kind of fraud.

Initially, I was told by the consulate it takes three to four weeks. It's been more than 5 weeks and the consulate has no update on the status. I am getting worried and frustrated as I am stuck in India for almost 8 weeks now.

Also, I would be greatful if you could please send any information/material on how long it takes to complete the Administrative check or fraud-check from the consulate.

I know it could be very frustrating. Post your question to Ron at immigration-information.com and ask him if there is a number where you can verify about fraud status.

Dear Jayanagar,

I would sincerely advice you to contact the consulate and tell them how this delay is costing you dearly. Tell them they have taken more time than they initially told you, and that this is causing problems between you and your company.

I would advice you to visit the consulate in person and discuss it with an officer. If you have a letter giving you the 4 week estimate, you may be able to use it to gain entry into the consulate.

Be proactive. Don't just take the delay and keep quiet about it. As long as you are confident that you are not involved in any fraud, you should be more assertive in telling them how this is causing you a lot of hardship.
