Guys,

just got off the phone from a lady who called me from Senator Carl Levin's office in reponse to my query 3 weeks ago regarding my I- 485 application. She just informed me what I already knew.....that I was approved may 16. That is the second senator's office that contacted me back out of the 4 senators i had reached out to.

So this actually works. Don't be disheartened by the anti immigrant senators and congressmen. There are good people out there who are willing to help. Just take the effort to reach out to them in your own respective states.
 
Can you initiate by just calling or do you need

to put into writing? I saw your written letter that you posted. did they ask you to send copies of i-485 receipt too? thanx

no boss, i just wrote one letter to each person. i have a personal phobia about cold calling on important topics. because i am afraid when it comes time to follow up, people may deny the conversation ever took place. so i decided to put everything in writing. I did not submit any I-485 recepit and now that you mention it, in hindsight I think I should have to make my case stronger.

I am quite surprised with this call because senator levin is a nationally recognized senator and I am sure he receives hundreds of letters a week. I am highly impressed with how organized and efficient things are everywhere in this country except the godforsaken INS.
