Philadelphia Naturalization Interview De-Scheduled

My wife filed for her naturalization case last year in April, 2004. She get a letter for interview this year in March 2005 for interview date of April 27, 2005. Then we got another letter for descheduling the interview.

Since then we have been waiting.. Is there any one in the same boat. Please provide with specific dates. Every time we go to downtown, we get a different resean. Ist time they said background check, then said name check. Now saying check from your counsulate in your contry.. which I heard for the first time.

Philadelphia has very rude immigration officers and it sucks as they never talk politely.

Any suggestions what can be done? I have contacted Senator and no response to her letter in 45 days.

name check is background check.

about counsulate in your country, not sure if they are checking your background in your home country also?

i never heard a de-schedule interview appt due to the background check thou.

mostly they go ahead with the interview, then let the background check pending for years till FBI clears them.
 
You can send a letter to the Philly DO's Director requesting the status on your application. Also, contact your Congressman and Senator's office for assistance.
 
I got a descheduled letter from USCIS about my N-400 application. My DO is Philadelphia as well. I sent my FOIPA request and got "No Records" response. I sent email to FBI about my name check and was told it is still pending. I went to Philadelphia office and never got exact answers. I am still waiting.

I had same background checking experience for my case. I had info pass appointment last week and tried to find out the status of my case. The officer told me my case under background checking and they can not set up a interview until the background checking is finished. I asked if it is the same as name checking, she wouldn't answer me that and just said the only thing I can do is wait.

If anyone had same time frame or close to my frame, please share your experience.

I keep sending the FBI emails but got no response from them? when did you contact them? how long before they did? was thru the email 'fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov' or someother method?
