PhD student on post-completion OPT, Can I apply for greencard ! what is the success rate?

Can anyone suggest if it is advisable to apply for green card while I am on OPT ! I am a PhD student in physiology have 6 publications, 1 international & 3 national awards for research. I have also presented my work at 4 international and national meetings. I wonder what could be my success...anybody with similar experiences? any advices?
 
It quite possibly will not be processed before the end of your OPT. If your employer will not sponsor for H1B, it says that your credentials are not as good as you expect.

You claim you are on post completion OPT but also claim you are a PhD student; these appear to be contradictory. If you are only a student without a PhD, your case is weak. Your publication and presentation record, depending on the field, can be considered to be weak.

You need to have your credentials reviewed by a qualified attorney to see if you qualify for self sponsorship.
