Petition upgrade necessary or not ?

I filed I-485, I-131, and I-765 on the fourth week of October, 2013, right after my wife became a citizen. My I-130 had been approved under F2A category, around a year back. When I applied for GC, I did not request for petition upgrade (the PD for F2A still being current), but sent the copies of her Naturalization Certificate with the I-485 package. The status of I-131 and I-765 shows 'Initial Review' and for I-485 it shows 'Testing and Interviewing' - scheduling interview. The status remains the same for a month as of today. It's through Chicago Office. Seems like normal processing times, but I am wondering if the petition upgrade was necessary and that the processing would have been better.
 
Upon seeing the naturalization certificate with the I-485, they should have processed the upgrade by now. If they haven't already done so, they'll upgrade it when you show her natz. certificate or US passport in the interview.
