Petition I 130 for ex green holder

My DAd is an green card holder entering USA after 11 months? Will IO revoke Green card at POE. Due to medical issues he was out so long.From past 4 years he is traveling out every year using re entry permit.This is he didn't take permit as he thought he will be back within 6 months.

I am a permanent resident and planning to apply citizenship. If my father abandon green card at USA consulate voluntarily. How easy it is if I petition him by filing I 130 for his second green card after I became citizen. His intention is settle down in USA after couple of years.

See answers in red. Good luck! I suggest you wait until he ACTUALLY is ready to settle here before filing for him again. The green card is not meant to be a visa. Many immigrant kids turned US citizens are pressuring their overseas parents to come and settle here without considering what the parent actually wants.

Looks like he has not made the USA his abode, he stands a good risk of having the green card revoked

Thank you for your answer. Actually my dad is a long term resident for 14 yrs. He is the one who sponsored me few years back before I turned 21. He coninuously stayed in USA for around 9 yrs without breaking residency. He is not interested in citizenship. Since last 4 yrs he is traveling using re entry permits. This is the first time doesn't have re entry permit. Unfortunately he got sick overseas and not able to come back within 6 months. Now he as some other things to settle down. In mean time if he surrenders green card at us consulate instead of getting revoked at POE , then once he is ready to move , I thought to apply for new I 130 petition.

Did he accumulate 40 quarters of Social Security credits? If yes, that would make it easier for you to sponsor him, since he would be eligible for I-864W which would remove the need for you to file I-864 and prove that you have sufficient income/assets.
