Hello All:
My spouse is in India in college. I recently became a US citizen. I applied for my wife when I was a US permanent resident. Now I will be upgrading the petition for spouse. I will do that in few weeks.
But I have a problem. My wife has to finish her college year in India and take the final exams before she comes here. She has to take her final exams before she comes otherwise her college credits will not transfer to the US college. So it is important for her to take those final exams.
The part where I am confused is that she might get the visa call and visa before she even has her final exams.
My question -
How many months is that visa valid for to come to the US? Because she has to wait till her final exams before she comes to the US.
If she gets the visa but her college year does not end till after 5 months...can she get that visa extended? And how long is that process itself? I mean I don't want to wait another year if we apply for extension of the visa...assuming extension of the visa is possible?
Thanks
Paresh
