many of you talk and whine about the injustice of such a delayed processing etc all the time....but the reality of this country is that,
government is too slow to react to changing scenario and provide reasonable service...just see the plight of doctors with their ever-raising malpractice insurance.
only way to make them act is by making them understand that such delayed processing is only harmful to the country. All of us are sitting on nice savings and would only open our savings and spend ( such as buying a house etc ) only if we get a green card. recent housing report has clearly stated that one of the main forces behind booming housing market is the immigrants....once the interest rates start going up, only people buying houses will be the immigrants and they better get their GCs before that.
I suppose on an average a new EB GC guy buys a home within
1-2 years of getting a GC, if he is not a homeowner yet. A flood of them with in next 3-6 months would definitely make a difference in the economy, wherein the govt is trying so hard to make people spend more by giving tax cuts etc...and the best thing is , it does not cost a thing. some smart guy in presidents staff needs to realise this fast........

the reality of he situation isn't that simple, the average (uninformed) american, the people in the cubicles around you, your neighbors aren't too keen on accepting a sudden push of immigration visas due to national security concerns and fear of more competition in an already struggling economy, however misplaced these fears may be.

And I don't mean to be elitist or intellectual by calling anyone uninformed but the reality is most people care about things that directly affect us, immigration visas, policies, rules and consequesnces do not affect the average american hence their ignorance. So even though such a move would be financially helpful in the short run, it'll be political suicide in the current environment.

Which is why Mr. Khanna is taking the “work in the back without attracting attention and get stuff done approach”. He is talking with a few pro-immigrant republicans to see if they can help our plight. Wish/Hope that some good comes out of his effort.
