Petition Current but sponsor just expired..

Hi

My cousin's green card petition through his father (a US Citizen) is now current (sponsored through Married Son of US Citizen). However my uncle recently expired. The question I have is whether my cousin can still apply for his green card or is the petition void due to the death of the sponsor.
 
Research Matter of Zaidan, Matter of Weisinger or Matter of Varela.

There is a petition based on humanitarian grounds that can be accepted, but very arduous. Please look up the above mentioned cases that have accepted. Perhaps, your attorney can help you. This is definitely one of those cases, where you may want an attorney involved, especially an attorney who is familiar with these cases.
