Hi All,

My green card has been approved in 2002. I applied the 485 for my wife with my application but it got delayed. My wife 485 is transferred to local Ins (Phoenix) 6months ago and she got interview on Jan 25th. I have couple of questions.

1. What kind of questions they ask in the interview.
2. I have changed my employer a year ago. Is there any problem if I submit the current employer letter? Or I don’t have to submit the employer letter just pay stub is enough?

If I have to submit current employer letter please send me or guide me some sample format.

3. When I applied my green card I am a hourly based employee. Now I am a salary based employee which almost matches the same amount. Is it a problem? or if I get new letter also reflect salary is ok?

I appreciate any ones help.

Thanks,
Srini.

Hi,

First and foremost every interview is different, so you can't generalize, but there are some basic questions they will ask you and I don't think they are that much hard.

They have everything on the record. So tell the truth clearly and precisely (no big explanations).

What you need is 3 year tax returns, current employment letter, months pay stubs for the last 3 months, marriage certificate (to show that you are legally married), spouse birth certificate, all used/unused Advance Parole doucments, EADs, I-94.

If you have kids and take the birth certificates/ passports of theirs too.

One more thing, if you are carrying a cell phone (with camera) plase leave it in the car. You are not allowed to take camera phones inside INS building.

If you need more infomation, plese send me an e-mail at skmajji@yahoo.com

Hi, if I may ask, what is your 485 notice/receipt date?

2. I would bring current employer letter. You could just use your offer letter but you may want to make sure the job duties match your LC.
3. I don't think that matters much.
