Personal check for I-140 fee

Can I write personal check for my I-140 fee for the employee based petition? It takes a month for the institution I am working for to make a check, so they want to know if I can write personal check for my I-140 fee first and they will reimburse me later. Thank you for your reply.
 
You could make the check payable to your lawyer and have your lawyer send them the fee as they only accept checks from the lawyer or your employer.
But please confirm with your lawyer. I have done this in the past and will be doing the same for the future.
