I enjoyed this forum so far. I happened to get my I485 approval this April. So, I got my passport stamped.
Anyhow, I'd like to ask one question to all those experts in GC.
I have a girl friend who is currently a graduate student(F-1). I did not even consider the marriage until now. So, I just became a permanent resident since last April. Here are my questions.
1) If I marry her near future, can I sponsor her GC?
I heard that it will take forever. However, is it possible?
Usually is it true to take 5+ years to get her GC?
(It turned out that she need around 6~7 years to graduate because her major is history, one of those taking long long time.
So, she can be legally present in US for 6~7 years as F-1)
2) Is it legally possible? Can she legally be F-1 while that process?
3) What is the best idea or way for my case in terms of time line?
