Permanent resident divorcing US citizen

i married a US citizen in 2004, and became a permanent resident in 2007 on the basis of this marriage. We are now getting divorced, which raises some questions.

do i need to notify USCIS about this? if so, which forms do i need to submit?
does my status as a permanent resident add any steps to the divorce process? does this affect my chances to get a citizenship after the standard 5 years have passed?

i basically dont know anything about the divorce process and its relation to immigration and permanent residency. we both want for the whole divorce process to be done and over with, but i need to know what to do about the issues above. any and all help is appreciated.

Did you receive a 10-year unconditional green card? If yes, the divorce doesn't affect your permanent resident status, and there is no need for you to report to USCIS about the divorce, except if and when you apply for citizenship.
