Permanent residency

I am currently on a H1-B visa for the last 4 years, desiring to apply for permanent residency.

(1) Due to my company's bureaucratic pressure, i fear that the immigration process might take longer than the span of my H visa. Is it possible to apply for permanent residency through another firm with the consent of my current employer?
(2) I have plans for higher education the next academic year, which requires change in visa status - F. Will this change affect my permanent residency stature(assuming that the immigration process is ongoing)? What would be the possible ramifications? Does it help to obtain leave of absence from my current employer(note:permanent residency filed through another firm)?

I would greatly appreciate response to my convoluted queries.

thanks

My friend vinsat,
You have posted the query on a wrong thread. This thread is for "Consular Processing issues".

The appropriate time for you to visit this thread is after two years (I wish it could be sooner).

I do not mean to discourage you, but I am only directing you to the right place.

Good Luck.

good job puliraju

People should think to post querries in appropriate threads. Just posting querries in wrong threads will negate the whole purpose of the forum.

Further all CP aspirants who have just got their 140 approved, there is a THread which says( After 140 approval and before case sent to consulate ). pl use that thread till you know your case has left NVC to respective consulate. so that you guys can have centralised information.

Anyhow, its for your info folks, Not to hurt anybody's sentiments. ALL the best.

Here are some answers, but please post at an appropriate thread next time

Apply for your green card thru a company that you will work for when you get the GC. Try not to complicate matters by taking the easy route.

If you go on an F1 visa, your green card petition is history. So plan accordingly.

I would greatly appreciate response to my convoluted queries.

thanks
