Hi there,
From what I have read, a working visa is much easier to obtain than permanent residence in both paper work and time.
Does a job offer equal sponsorship from the employer side of things? Does it cost the employer anything to employ a skilled worker from another country?
I have two trades (electrician/instrument fitter) and will be certified in canada with one of the trades very shortly. From what I hear there is a large shortage of tradesmen and alot of work especially in the BC area with the olympics coming up.
I am not sure I really want to wait 2yrs for permenant residence ( I will be applying from Sydney Australia) so I am interested in anybody who has had a working visa in Canada and there experience.
Can a working visa lead to permanent residence/citizenship?
What is the maximum time you can have a working visa for? Are they extendable? Can you change employers?
thanks for anyone that can help!
JJ
