permanent residecny expires before 3 years

my greencard will expire 12/14/09
i was issued a greencard on 12/14/09

i can't file for citizenship until i was a permanent resident for 3 years and have been marries for 3 years.
it has only been 2 and my greencard will expire at the end of this year.

what am i going to do?:confused:

I think you can take a deep breath and relax :)

Your dates must be wrong.... But it sounds like you have conditional card for which you just need to file the appropriate removal of condition paperwork to get a 10 year card, and then apply for citizenship at 3 years - 90 days.

If you are married to a US citizen and your green card status derives from such relationship, you must file an I-751 during the 90 days immediately before the second anniversary of the date you were accorded conditional resident status. This is the date your conditional residence will expire.

Example: you conditional GC says you are a resident since 04/25/2007, you must have filed to remove the conditions on 01/25/2009 OR if the petition is not filed, you will automatically lose your conditional resident status as of the second anniversary of the date on which you were granted conditional status.

Therefore, once the conditions are removed, you will get a 10 year green card and you will be considered a permanent resident.-
