PERM vs. RIR

Hi everybody!

My company finally agreed to start Green Card process. Here is my question:

From the practical standpoint, what's better - file RIR right now or wait for PERM to be released?

Company's lawyer pushes the process toward PERM. I would like to have RIR started to have at least priority date. HR manager told me that company will not pay twice to to do two recruitments, so, I have to choose if we are appying for RIR or if we wait for PERM.

Any advices?

Start now, dont wait. So far PERM has nothing but a dream. Frankly thats perhaps the first lawyer that is advising you to wait for PERM. Just my two cents.
