I was curious as to the time frame for permanent residency. I realize it depends on each person and is case by case but in a general sense.
I'm on my 6th year of H1B, began the process in October of 2010 under EB2. I am Korean. I work in finance.
The Company has completed the interview process and am in the process of PERM where we are awaiting labor certification- I believe. The Company has not ID'd any potential candidates for my position. I believe all we need is the labor certification then 140 process.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the labor certification? And then from that point, how long does it take to get the 140 filed/approved?
I'm trying to figure out, if all goes well, how long it will take me to get the green card. Also, could I quit relatively soon thereafter upon receipt for another job?
Any experiences or insight would be appreciated.
