My 6th year H1b expires in Jan2012. I am in QA. My company was about to file my PERM but there were layoffs in my company in QA in my city and they will not be able to file until end of Feb 2012. Can somebody please answer the following questions?
1. Will I be able to make it if I file for PERM in March 2010 or will I have to leave to India in Jan 2012?
2. Is it possible to move my work area where there were no layoffs and file for PERM there?
3. Is it possible to show my work location as some other city where there were no layoffs so that the PERM can be filed?
4. If my PERM is filed before Jan 2012 but if I don't get my I-140 approved, do I lose my job? Or can my job be in a transient status and can I come back and join my job after the I-140 gets approved?
