my TR LC was filed in 05 with a 03/24/05 PD, which is being coverted to RIR.

PERM will be filed soon. Suppose PERM got approved next moth. I'll have a PD of 02/xx/07.

aren't i140 and i485 processed based on the PD?
supposed my coverted RIR went thru in this in Oct, 2007, the PD is still sooner than that of the PERM.

so i dont see how PERM will help me get the PR faster.

may someone clarify? thanks
 
If your TR/RIR case also gets approved, you can apply for I-140 for that case. Once that I-140 is approved, you can use the TR/RIR case priority date (03/24/05) against your PERM case I-485 process, indirectly making your PERM case faster.
